Stephanie Green

Stephanie Green Living Water

Living Water features the reflected forms and the compositional elements of water. Originally created in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, this series has grown and evolved to embrace the realization that water not only gives and sustains life, but also contains it.

In much of her work, Stephanie Green utilizes encaustics, an ancient method with which the artist literally paints with pigmented wax.Working contextually, and organically, her art resolves in a fluid manner,  fusing liquid, light, form, and color while pushing toward deeper dives into the mesmerizing effect of color and light on the moving surface of water.

The Living Water series can also be found in current issues of Ballard Designs, Crate & Barrel and Grandin Road catalogs.

Stephanie Writes   "Motivation for my work comes from interaction with my environment. My experiences, visually, emotionally and spiritually are all manifested in the paintings. Working contextually, and organically, my art resolves in a fluid manner. Water, with it's movement and physicality, compels me to proceed in my exploration of this subject. Fusing liquid, light, form, and color, my work continues to grow and evolve. As I (aspire to) dive deeper, into the mesmerizing effect, of color and light on the moving surface of water, different medium and dimension are incorporated."
